Facilities and Resources

Reviewers need to be able to assess the availability and capability of the resources that you will be using to perform the proposed project. The Facilities and Resources section of the application provides the reviewers with information on the space, instrumentation, and specialized services available for your use. Identify the facilities you will be using (laboratory, office, animal, computer, clinical, etc.) and outline their capacity, capabilities, proximity, and availability. Discuss ways in which the proposed studies will benefit from the unique features of the available resources and/or subject populations. If you will be using biohazards or other potentially dangerous substances, describe any special facilities for their use.

Describe how the scientific environment in which the research will be done will contribute to your probability of success – institutional support; physical resources; and intellectual rapport. Elaborate on any collaborations and trans- or interdisciplinary aspects of the proposal.

Describe only those resources that are applicable to the proposed work and be certain to customize the information that you supply to the specific proposal. &Emphasize what is unique about GCU.

A Facilities and Resources section is not required for all grant applications.
